• Authors are requested to submit their original, empirical, and unpublished works in MS Word (doc/docx.) Format.
• The name of the submitted file will be Name of the Author/s-Title of the Paper-Article/Short note/Book Review.
• The submissions must be accompanied by a covering letter containing the following information:
  1. Full Name of the Author/s
  2. Designation/s
  3. Institutional Affiliations (if any)
  4. Contact Details of the Author/s
• The submissions can be sent to [email protected] and to the emails of Editor and Associate Editor of the respective volumes.

• Submissions can be in the form of

  3. Book reviews
• Articles must be composed on A4 size paper, 1.5 spaced. Font size is 12 in Times New Roman.
• Articles should be 5000-7500 words and Notes 1500-3000 words in length.
• Each article should accompany an abstract not extending 200 words and 5-6 keywords.
• Notes do not require an abstract.
• For Indic languages, use italics. However, italics must not be used for proper nouns.
• The general pattern of references is in-text with (author year: page number/s) format. Page number/s should be used to show a specific point discussed in the original publication or while citing quotation from it. The sequence of referencing in the Bibliography should be first alphabetical and then chronological.
• Endnotes are not used. For specific comment/s on a citation, the author (s) can incorporate in the form of footnotes.

The journal is blinded peer-reviewed and therefore, both the reviewer and the author identities are concealed from each other, throughout the review process. After initial scrutiny of the submissions, these were sent to the reviewers. The reviewer’s decision in the evaluation process is considered as final. Depending on that, the article may be accepted, may be rejected, or may be directed to the author for modifications. Minor modifications may be done by the Editorial Committee members. Quality control measure is maintained.

The information of author/s received by Karatoya, North Bengal University Journal of History, is essentially necessary for the processing and publication of manuscripts. This information may include names, affiliations, and contact details, including postal addresses, emails, phone numbers. However, precautionary measures will be taken to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of such personal information.

The Registrar, University of North Bengal is the sole copyright owner of all the published materials in the Karatoya, North Bengal University Journal of History.

1. Articles, Notes, Book reviews should be original in nature and empirical in approach, should not have been already published or under active consideration in any other journal/s or publication house/s.

2. Plagiarism of any sort is a crime and is considered unethical. The author/s are needed to certify that their submissions are within the permissible limits of plagiarism as per the 2018 norms of the Universities Grants Commission, New Delhi, India. Therefore, author/s shall be held responsible for breach of such norms. 3. The final selection of the articles/notes are essentially based on the blinded peer review process.

4. The opinion expressed in the article should be considered as the opinion of the author.

5. Members of the Editorial Board will not use the data or the ideas of the submitted papers for their own research before the actual publication of such articles/notes and without using the concerned references.

6. The editors reserve the right to edit the submissions (or part(s) thereof) for publication without prior permission from the author/s.

7. No payment is charged by the publisher from the authors for publication of their articles in the Karatoya: North Bengal University Journal of History.

The journal is open to the public for its access.
